A scholarship is a great opportunity for those who wish to attend but are worried about the financial strain
of attending the event. We want to make sure that everyone that would like to attend, has the opportunity to,
and if money is an issue, this is the option for you. It requires a bit more work, but we will cover a large
amount of your expenses once you get to Augusta, GA. You will not be identified during the weekend – no one
but us will know you are there on a Scholarship.
What does the Scholarship Cover?
Lodging at the Executive Inn & Suites. We hold 2 rooms for our scholars. You'll be in a shared room
with 2 queen beds and up to 3 other scholars. Rooms are booked Wednesday Night – Sunday Morning.
You’re welcome to come earlier, or stay later, but the cost of those nights would be on you.
Your Weekend Fist Fest Pass.
Some, but not all, food. We like to take our scholarship holders out to eat to get acquainted with
each other before the work begins, and there are also a few other meals that will be covered.
To be safe, plan on providing a majority of your own meals.
The scholarship does NOT cover any travel expenses to or from Augusta. Many people who attend
Fist Fest do fly into Atlanta, so we may be able to help you find a ride to or from Augusta from Atlanta.
What will I have to do?
Arrive to Augusta by 3pm on the Wednesday before the weekend to help with set-up.
Stay until Sunday to help with clean-up.
Help out up to a few hours per day. We get that you're coming to play, so we make sure
that the work you have to do will not interfere with all of your play time.
Set-up and tear down slings
Carrying and stocking drinks, supplies, etc.
Tidy up the play spaces.
Close down the play spaces at night.
Setting up and tearing down Larry's Mary's each morning.
Being around to help out when needed.
