Metropolis Complex (which includes Parliament Resort, the Executive Inn & Suites, Capri Lounge and The Edge Bar) is nestled on 15 floral, semi-tropical acres in historic Augusta, Georgia, and boasts of being the world's largest all-male gay resort. The resort has 120 rooms, 2 pools. The Parliament pool is lusciously landscaped and is clothing optional and there is also a large, welcoming hot tub. Adjacent to the Capri Lounge at the Executive Inn is the second pool where poolside cocktail service is offered. This pool is not clothing optional.
While everyone looks at Parliament as being “ground zero” for the weekend, Parliament fills up quickly. Don’t worry. Executive Inn is immediately adjacent (a 2 minute stroll) to Parliament and many like the rooms there better. Your weekend pass gives you 24 hour access to everything going on at Parliament through the fully staffed lobby.
If you are local enough, obviously you can drive. Parliament and Executive Inn have ample parking. If you are staying off-site you’ll need to rent a car or rely on taxis or ride share.
If you are flying, here are some things to consider.
Augusta Regional Airport (AGS) is only a 10 – 15 minute drive from Metropolis Entertainment Complex (formerly Parliament and Executive Inn). Ground transportation is more than ample: taxis, Uber, and Lyft all offer rides. Cost is about $20. AGS is a nice, but very small airport with only about 4 gates. The good news is that they are all adjacent. AGS is a 20 minute flight from either Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA.
Many folks fly into either Atlanta, GA (ATL | Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport) or Charlotte, NC (CLT | Charlotte Douglas International Airport) rent a car, and drive the rest of the way. Either way, it’s about a 2 hour drive to the resort.
The Poolside Cafe at Parliament is up and running and is usually open from Thursday evening through Sunday morning. Check their weekend schedule.
The Capri Lounge, at the Executive Inn offers daily drink specials, including daily happy hours cocktail service poolside. It is the venue for Thursday’s registration and our Friday afternoon cocktail party which also offers up a sumptuous buffet of heavy appetizers for those who need their other end fed after the afternoon’s Pool Party.
The Edge Bar is adjacent to Parliament and is open weekends. It is also the location of our Saturday afternoon play party, "Hell Hole: At The Edge of Hell."
There is limited food delivery available. Check at the front desk for suggestions. If you are driving, downtown Augusta has many fine restaurants in all price ranges.
If you're aching for a down-home, Southern-style breakfast like biscuits, gravy and grits, try the Sunrise Grill, just down the highway in North Augusta, South Carolina (say "hey" to Lindsey). North Augusta also sports a huge Kroger supermarket and better liquor prices than Augusta.
If you'd like to soak up some genuine Southern hospitality, there’s lots to see and do, like taking a riverboat tour down the majestic Savannah River, or enjoying a stroll along its banks on the River Walk in downtown Augusta.
